Abstract

Accelerated digital transformation and the growing adoption of artificial intelligence technologies in the corporate sector redefine production processes, business models, and professional competencies required in the contemporary world of work. The integration of artificial intelligence systems in organizational environments frequently occurs without adequate preparation of professionals to understand, use, and critically evaluate these technologies. This study analyzes digital literacy as a fundamental necessity for effective and responsible use of artificial intelligence in the corporate sector, examining required competencies, professional training gaps, and organizational strategies for developing digital capabilities. The methodology adopts a mixed approach of applied nature, with exploratory-descriptive objectives, using structured questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and documentary analysis. The results reveal four central dimensions: technical, analytical, and ethical digital literacy competencies necessary for artificial intelligence use; significant professional training gaps with insufficient preparation during formal education; organizational training strategies facing resource and contextualization challenges; and implications of digital literacy for organizational performance and responsible technology use. The conclusions indicate that digital literacy constitutes a fundamental requirement for effective participation in digitalized labor markets, requiring transformations of educational systems, training programs, and organizational cultures that value continuous learning and ethical use of artificial intelligence.
