STRENGTHENING FAMILY FARMING: A STUDY ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF PRONAF RESOURCES IN THE MESOREGIONS OF GOIÁS (2015-19)

This article aims to spatially analyze the allocation of financial resources from the National Program for Strengthening Family Farming (Pronaf) in the mesoregions of the state of Goiás, covering the period from 2015 to 2019. Family farming, historically relegated to a secondary role in favor of large landholding expansion, found in Pronaf, created in 1995, a crucial instrument for state legitimation and credit. Through exploratory, bibliographic, and documentary research, using data from the Central Bank of Brazil (BACEN) and IBGE, the distribution of the investment credit line was verified. The results indicate that, despite an amount of approximately R$ 4 billion allocated to the state and horizontal growth in access to credit in regions such as Eastern Goiás (133%), there is a significant concentration of 61% of the resources in the Central-South region. It is concluded that the distribution remains unequal, influenced by the logistics of agribusiness and food conglomerates, requiring public policies that promote more equitable rural development.
