FORDAN EXTENSION PROJECT ACTIONS: CULTURE IN ADDRESSING VIOLENCE – UFES/ES

This reflection addresses the role of the legal team of the FORDAN/UFES project in helping and welcoming women assisted by the project, in the institutionalized fight against domestic violence. The aim of this work is to report the difficulties encountered both by the victims and by the legal advisory team of the FORDAN Extension Project: Culture in Combating Violence/UFES, in the follow-up and referral, from the service at the women's service stations - DEAM - to the granting or not of urgent protective measures, unjustified delay in forwarding cases of domestic violence to the hearing, as well as the non-application of Law No. 11.340/06, better known as Maria da Penha Law, when trans women are victims and/or involve property issues. In this sense, the team's legal assistance aims to help overcome these obstacles so that the victim is effectively protected. With the objective of describing the performance of the team, especially in view of institutional violence and the process of revictimization, reports of women assisted by victims of violence and bibliography on the subject were used.
