This article aims to study the observations of one of the fathers of modern sociological thought, Karl Marx (1818-1883), in relation to the deplorable cases of exploitation of child labor, verified, above all, in the United Kingdom of the nineteenth century. Our investigation, of a theoretical and bibliographical nature, is focused on the first book of Capital, the only one that was published during the author's lifetime (1867), the other volumes being organized and released posthumously (NETTO, 2020). We conclude, the relevance and timeliness of its analysis in a pertinent and comprehensive description. We understand that the author was especially sensitive to the theme of the work of children and young people coming from the proletariat and its effects on this population segment. Being this aspect, theme less remembering in investigations about Marxist thought.
