THE ILLUSION OF EFFICIENCY: A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN MANAGEMENT PROCESSES

This study examines the perception of efficiency generated by artificial intelligence (AI) in organizational management processes, a topic that is gaining relevance with the increasing adoption of algorithmic technologies. The choice of topic is justified by the need for an in-depth analysis that transcends initial enthusiasm, investigating the real contributions and potential misconceptions associated with the implementation of AI. The main objective is to critically analyze the perception of efficiency that artificial intelligence projects onto management practices. The methodology employed is based on a systematic literature review, exploring the academic literature on AI, management, and algorithmic decision-making. The results reveal that, although AI offers unprecedented data processing and automation capabilities, it also introduces challenges related to algorithmic biases, opacity, and a possible disqualification of human skills. The conclusions point to the existence of an "illusion of efficiency," where the speed and scale of AI can mask ethical and operational flaws, requiring a more cautious and humanly supervised approach to its integration into corporate environments.
