TECHNOLOGY, SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL INEQUALITY: CHALLENGES AND PERSPECTIVES IN THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION

This study examines the relationship between the Digital Revolution, sustainability, and social inequality. The objective is to understand how Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can drive structural changes and reduce inequalities while also creating digital exclusion among marginalized populations. The methodology employed was a literature review, drawing on works by authors such as Schwab (2016) and Bielschowsky and Torres (2018), which offer a critical perspective on the impacts of the Digital Revolution. The findings reveal that although ICT provides opportunities for social and economic inclusion, it also exacerbates disparities, particularly in developing regions where access to the internet and other technologies remains limited. The conclusion underscores the need for public policies that promote equitable access to technology and reduce digital barriers, thereby fostering sustainable development and social equity.
