DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES: A BIBLIOGRAPHICAL REVIEW

Digital transformation has emerged as an imperative for organizational survival. This phenomenon is still new and has become an emerging issue in academic research, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. The objective of this study is to analyze the scientific production related to digital transformation in small and medium-sized companies between 2020 and 2024. The methodological approach used is qualitative, through a bibliographic review and content analysis. The results point to six categories involving digital transformation, namely: barriers to digital transformation highlight the obstacles that hinder the adoption of DT; dynamic capabilities refer to the ability of companies to adapt; digital maturity addresses the level of integration of digital technologies; resilience in SMEs demonstrates how these companies can face challenges; digital technology involves tools that support transformation; and strategies analyze how SMEs plan digital change to maintain competitiveness.
