DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN HEALTHCARE: IMPACTS OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND TELEMEDICINE ON PATIENT CARE

Digital transformation in healthcare represents a contemporary phenomenon that redefines care paradigms through the integration of artificial intelligence and telemedicine into health systems. The relevance of this study is justified by the need to critically understand the impacts of these technologies on care quality, service access, and the physician-patient relationship, considering both opportunities and challenges inherent to this process. The main objective consists of analyzing the impacts of artificial intelligence and telemedicine on patient care, identifying benefits, limitations, and challenges associated with digital transformation in healthcare. The adopted methodology is characterized as an integrative literature review, qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive in nature, conducted through systematic searches in internationally recognized databases, with thematic content analysis of selected studies. The main results demonstrate significant expansion of access to health services, improvement in diagnostic precision and therapeutic personalization, accompanied by challenges related to humanization of care, privacy protection, and overcoming digital inequalities. The conclusions indicate that digital transformation configures itself as a complex process that demands a systemic approach, strategic investments, professional training, and ethical commitment to principles of equity and humanization, evidencing that digital technologies constitute tools whose impact fundamentally depends on how they are implemented and governed.
