LA DISTRIBUCIÓN ESPACIAL DE LOS DELITOS AMBIENTALES EN MANAOS EN EL CONTEXTO DE LA COVID-19

La pandemia de COVID-19 ha provocado cambios significativos en la dinámica social e institucional, afectando también la seguridad pública y el medio ambiente. En Manaos, la combinación de aislamiento social, disminución del control estatal y vulnerabilidad económica ha llevado a un aumento de prácticas ambientales nocivas. En este contexto, este estudio buscó investigar la distribución espacial de los delitos ambientales en Manaos durante los períodos prepandémicos (2019/2020) y pandémicos (2020/2021), para comprender cómo la crisis sanitaria afectó la frecuencia y la ubicación de estos delitos contra la naturaleza. La investigación utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo, basado en 1.551 informes policiales de la Policía Civil del Estado de Amazonas (SISP), y empleó técnicas de análisis estadístico y geográfico (ArcGIS 10.8, índices de Moran globales y locales, ecuaciones MCO, SAR y SEM). Los resultados demostraron un aumento del 27,75 % en los delitos ambientales durante el primer año de la pandemia, la mayoría de los cuales fueron incidentes contra la fauna y la flora, y una distribución espacial de los incidentes en zonas periféricas y vulnerables, como Redenção, Educandos y Novo Aleixo. Desde una perspectiva científica, la investigación combina la criminología verde y el análisis espacial en la región amazónica, contribuyendo a la comprensión de las conexiones entre la pandemia y la desigualdad socioespacial, así como los delitos ambientales. Las conclusiones tienen una relevancia concreta para la seguridad pública y la supervisión ambiental.
