A DISTRIBUIÇÃO ESPACIAL DO CRIME AMBIENTAL EM MANAUS NO CONTEXTO DA COVID-19

A pandemia da COVID-19 provocou mudanças significativas na dinâmica social e institucional, afetando também a segurança pública e o meio ambiente. Em Manaus, a combinação de isolamento social, declínio do controle estatal e vulnerabilidade econômica levou ao aumento de práticas ambientais prejudiciais. Considerando esse contexto, este estudo buscou investigar a distribuição espacial dos crimes ambientais em Manaus durante os períodos pré-pandemia (2019/2020) e pandêmico (2020/2021), a fim de compreender como a crise sanitária afetou a frequência e a localização desses crimes contra a natureza. A pesquisa utilizou uma abordagem quantitativa que, com base em 1.551 boletins de ocorrência da Polícia Civil do Estado do Amazonas (SISP), empregou técnicas de análise estatística e geográfica (ArcGIS 10.8, índices de Moran Global e Local, equações de MQO, SAR e SEM). Os resultados comprovaram um aumento de 27,75% nos crimes ambientais durante o primeiro ano da pandemia, a maioria dos quais incidentes contra a fauna e a flora, e uma distribuição espacial de incidentes periféricos e vulneráveis, como Redenção, Educandos e Novo Aleixo. Do ponto de vista científico, a investigação combina criminologia verde e análise espacial na região amazônica, contribuindo para a compreensão das conexões entre a pandemia e a desigualdade socioespacial, bem como os crimes ambientais. As conclusões têm significado concreto para a segurança pública e a fiscalização ambiental
