PLANO E IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DE MANUTENÇÃO DE UMA BOMBA DE VÁCUO DO LABORATÓRIO GEAPI/UFPI

This work aims to develop a preventive maintenance plan for a vacuum pump used in the ester distillation system of the GEAPI Laboratory at the Federal University of Piauí. It was identified that the equipment lacked a maintenance manual, which hindered proper interventions and compromised its efficiency and lifespan. The methodology involved collecting technical data about the equipment, creating detailed drawings for parts identification, applying Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and developing practical tools such as checklists and work orders. Through these actions, the study sought to map the main issues affecting the equipment and propose preventive solutions, thereby enhancing the system’s safety and reliability. Among the results, the formulation of a maintenance model stands out — detailing routines such as periodic inspections, replacement and adjustment of critical components, as well as strategies to address recurring failures. The cause-and-effect diagram helped identify factors impacting the pump’s performance, guiding corrective and preventive actions. Complementing the process, photographic records documented the condition of the parts and contributed to monitoring interventions over time. The study showed that, with proper planning and the application of maintenance best practices, it is possible to maximize equipment efficiency and avoid excessive costs resulting from unexpected failures. The organization of the preventive maintenance plan proved to be a key resource not only for extending the vacuum pump’s service life but also for providing greater confidence and predictability in laboratory processes.
